This is about control, status, and executive privilege. Cook needs to control others and to do that, those others must be PHYSICALLY present. His ability (or lack thereof) to compel others to be physically present relates directly to his need for STATUS and the DISPLAY OF STATUS. Finally, both control and the display of status are signals of EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE.

Cook is a Psychopath as are many CEOs, and the needs of workers pale in comparison to his own. Others are simply a path to fulfilling the psychopath’s needs.
